Failure Mode: Effects Analysis
| Purpose |
| Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA ) is a tool used to assess and reduce process risk. This seminar allows participants to identify and reduce high-risk process design flaws before the process design is finalized. |
| Objectives | ||
| • | Review the Automotive Quality System Requirements related to FMEA. | |
| • | Understand the basics of the FMEA process and the terminology used. | |
| • | Study the team approach for the use in FMEA. | |
| • | Define the process to be analyzed using a Process Flow Diagram. | |
| • | Develop Process Functions and Failure Modes. | |
| • | Create a Cause-Effect Diagram to analyze a Failure Mode. | |
| • | Study the use of Current Process Controls. | |
| • | Perform risk analysis of Failure Modes using the rating scales. | |
| • | Using the FMEA form to communicate the results of the analysis. | |
| • | Perform risk reduction by taking action to minimize risk. | |
| • | Study ways to keep a FMEA alive. | |
| • | Develop a Control Plan and Reaction Plan from the FMEA. | |
| Methodology |
| PFMEA concepts are presented in an easy to understand sequential format, allowing participants to quickly grasp the construction and use of PFMEAs. And , sequential workshops allow participants the opportunity to gain experience at each step of PFMEA construction. Course durations of less than two days may require a tailoring of objectives. |
