today need fast and cost effective ways of solving problems and challenges
of this rapidly changing marketplace. This program provides participants
with data-based, problem-solving strategies. The emphasis is on using
objective data to ensure that problems selected are significant and
that once solved they do not recur. Participants learn to apply problem-solving
strategies to enhance performance, productivity, and profitability. |

| Methodology |
| Participants
engage in discussions, small group exercises, and simulations to fine-tune
and systematize their problem-solving strategies. Participants are
provided with work sheets and checklists to facilitate the application
of skills to work situations. A manual is provided that includes notes,
exercises, and references. Post-conference follow-up is included and
is encouraged via telephone or e-mail. |

| Problem Solving Strategies can also be offered
as an applied program where work teams or cross-functional teams
apply what they learn to solve important, on-the-job problems to
improve performance. These sessions are conducted as a series of
modules spaced out over several weeks. |
