What is LEAD about? LEAD is:

Where is LEAD offered?
- LEAD is offered as an open enrollment program five times a year in Ann Abor, Michigan. It also is and has been offered as an inhouse program by such companies as General Dynamics, Estee Lauder, Motorola and BWX Technologies.
What goes on during LEAD sessions? Each LEAD session is comprised of:
- Pre-program Interviews Before the LEAD sessions begin, participants and their supervisors are interviewed to determine their needs and to help them set goals for themselves.
- Four-day Workshop Participants in LEAD are involved in assessing strengths and weaknesses of their leadership and management competencies, personal style and the current culture of their work unit. Participants then develop comprehensive change plans to improve each of these areas.
- Throughout the week each person has private consultation time with members of the faculty. In addition, they participate in constructive feedback and consulting sessions with the other participants in the program.
- Post Program Follow-up After the four-day session is completed we provide post-session follow-up, including a series of phone consultations to review actual implementation of the personal and work unit change plans.
How does LEAD differ from other programs?
- Other programs are either about leadership, personal style or they are about organizational change.
- LEAD is about all three at the same time.
- LEAD helps participants integrate the changes they need to make in their personal style and leadership competencies with changes that are needed to make their work units both more productive and a better place to work.
