“I sent one of my managers to the LEAD program about 8 years ago. The resultant feedback was so positive and dramatic that I continued sending my existing leadership team and made the LEAD program a requirement for all new managers”

Overview

We do appreciate your interest in The LEAD Institute’s Program for High Potential Managers and hope that we’ll be of service to you in the future. We’ve offered LEAD both as an open enrollment program and as a customized in-house program for ten years. Much of what we do in LEAD is based on our thirty years of global leading and managing change consulting experience.

At LEAD the subject matter for the course are the participants in the class. We provide them with a learning community where they can explore new ideas, experiment with new behaviors, learn from others in the class and help others to change. We do everything we can to personalize the learning experience for each participant and work hard at ensuring their immediate and future success.

LEAD is a fine educational program on organizational change, leading people, managing systems and personal insight. But, it is much more than this. It is a process to translate insight into action. LEAD is a planned change process where high potential managers come to develop improvement plans they will implement on-the-job. These developmental plans focus on the following three spheres of excellence:

Work Unit Transformation:
Participants in LEAD assess the current functioning of their work units and develop comprehensive change plans to improve its effectiveness and performance. These plans include culture transformation, strategy, structure, performance systems, staff and skills and mission.

Leader/Managerial Competency:
Using our personalized 360° feedback process, participants assess their strengths and weaknesses. Using this analysis they develop specific change plans to both enhance their leadership and managerial effectiveness and to make their intended work unit transformation a reality.

Personal Style:
Everyone in the session is first of all a person. Therefore, participants spend the entire week understanding how to enhance their personal style and figuring out how to behave differently so as to have a more positive impact on others.

LEAD’s Integrate Approach
The LEAD Program for High Potential Managers, as shown in the figure below, is built on the understanding that total Leadership Effectiveness is derived from integrating change in the participant’s Work Culture, Personal Style and his or her Leadership and Management Competencies.
