Transforming Organizational Culture

Purpose
More than any other factor, an organization’s culture culture has the strongest influence on productivity, retention, employee satisfaction, readiness for innovation, adoption of new programs and technology and how managers lead people. Bringing about successful change in people requires the capacity to understand organizational culture and influence its transformation.

Transforming Organizational Culture is based on the competing values model of clans, adhocracies, enterprises and hierarchies of organizational culture. The session provides managers a sound foundation upon which to better understand and change their work unit’s culture, making the work place more productive and a better place in which to work.

Objectives
  Distinguish between the core values and competing values nature of organizational culture.
  Understand the eight competing value orientations of organizational culture.
  Learn how to map the current culture of work units.
  Define and assess the postiive and negative attributes of each dominant culture type.
  Create a vision for the desired future culture and understand the degree and direction of change required.
  Understand how to link the desired culture change to the organization’s business strategy.
  Learn how change in structure, programs, performance systems, skill and behavior produces change in culture.
  Link the desired culture change to required change in leading and managing.

Methodology
Transforming Organizational Culture is a highly active and interactive learning experience. Participants are engaged in learning simulations, small group discussions . And, depending on the length of the program, actually apply the material being presented to work.

Half day, full day or multi-day sessions.
