Dr. Frank Petrock’s planned change expertise has benefited organizations in North America, Europe and South East Asia for over twenty-five years. Both productivity and organizational effectiveness are improved through the application of his innovative approaches to leadership, team and organizational development. He and his company have been involved in designing and managing major organizational change efforts such as culture change, team based management, lean and six sigma.

As an organizational psychologist, Frank knows that behavioral science theory is useful only when it is applied. Thus, Frank’s developmental processes focus on application and change. He combines easily understood concepts with simulations and sound implementation strategies. Clients get the knowledge, skills and tools with which to change themselves, their teams and their organizations.

In addition to consulting services, Frank has contributed to a numerous management and executive education programs sponsored by companies and universities. These include Motorola’s University and Global Leadership Development, Lucent’s Manufacturing Leadership Program, Eastern Michigan University’s Center for Quality, PennState’s Executive Education, ABB’s Quality Institutes, and the Institute for Management Studies. He also served on the faculty of the Chalmers Advanced Management Programs headquartered in Sweden, and ABB Quality Institutes in Europe. Frank has also been a long time faculty member of The University of Michigan’s Executive Education programs and General Motors’ Technical Staff Management.

Frank has had a long and varied career in the field of change management. His first appointment was as warden of a maximum security unit. There he designed and used innovative processes for behavioral and organizational change. In the early 1970’s, this innovative work in the field of corrections led to an invitation from The University of Michigan’s Psychology Department to earn a Doctorate in Behavior and Social Change. Frank has a Masters Degree from Fairleigh Dickenson University and a Bachelors Degree from Upsala College.

Frank incorporated the General Systems Consulting Group in the early 1970’s to help managers create organizations that were more productive and better places in which to work. Over these many years, General Systems has built long-term, productive relationships with managers and union leaders in a long list of Fortune 500 companies. These include such companies as Autoliv, TRW, Glaxo Smith-Kline, Lucent Technologies, ABB USA and Europe, First Energy, Motorola, AT&T, General Motors AlliedSignal, Raytheon, General Dynamics, U.S. Steel, Ford Motor Co., Honda, Chrysler, Valeant, New Jersey PSEG, and Sony, to name only a few of his clients.

In 1996 Frank and his team developed the LEAD Institute for High Potential Managers to help ensure the continued success of their clients. LEAD is offered both as an open enrollment and as an in-house program.
